Hi, I’m Risa and I illustrate picture books. I studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. My current picture books are K Is for Kindness (Penguin Random House, 2022) and G Is for Gratitude (Penguin Random House 2026). K is for Kindness has been on Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library US Book List for 3 years. I have also illustrated for Highlights Magazine. When I am not drawing, I enjoy cooking Italian food, listening to music, and am a cat person. Some random facts: I can make dumplings and am bilingual in English and Japanese.
